SubieCrew Golden Gate Volunteers at Bark and Meow Around the Block

Community Kit

Join Berkeley Humane for Bark (& Meow) Around the Block, California’s largest single-location adoption event. More than 30 Bay Area shelters and rescue organizations will come together with hundreds of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens looking for loving homes. The event is a fun, community-focused day with live music, food and local beer, pet and community vendors, family-friendly activities, and plenty of opportunities to meet adoptable animals. More importantly, it shines a spotlight on homeless pets and supports the lifesaving work of shelters and rescues throughout the Bay Area. As SubieCrew Golden Gate, we would like to bring our chapter together to support Berkeley Humane and contribute to the event as a volunteer group. Our greatest opportunity to help is currently afternoon event support from approximately 1:00–4:00 PM, followed by event cleanup from approximately 4:00–5:30 PM. However, feel free to show up early and enjoy the event. During the event, volunteers can help in roles such as Partner & Rescue Support or Community & Information Support, with assignments determined by Berkeley Humane based on the needs of the event and the number of volunteers in our group. This initiative is a great fit for our chapter because it brings together the Subaru Love Promise pillars of Pets and Community while giving our members a hands-on opportunity to support a local organization and make a meaningful impact. It also gives our chapter a chance to connect with the broader Bay Area community outside of the typical car meet or drive. Our goal is simple: show up, lend a hand, support local animal organizations, and have a great day together as SubieCrew Golden Gate.
