Sutton is a foster fail and has been limping since he was about 4 months old. Originally, it was believed to be growing pains. Then the limp never went away and became more prevalent. After a referral from his vet, he had a consult with Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center. The vet believes this is likely elbow dysplasia, or fragmented medial coronoid process from the joint not fusing correctly during development. Treatment requires surgery to remove the bone that didn't fuse so it doesn't cause more problems in the future. Unfortunately, this type of elbow dysplasia is commonly bilateral. He will need scans to confirm prior to surgery. Sutty is just over a year old and is a great candidate for a successful surgery. However, the cost is extensive. Scans alone are $1,400! Sutty is an incredibly sweet, playful, and affectionate American Pitbull Terrier mix. He loves a good game of fetch with his JollyBall, shredding a plushy toy, and chewing on anything he can find. He has two sisters that he loves to wrestle and run around the back yard with. He loves every human and dog he has ever met, especially at Omaha Dog Bar! His elbow pain is starting to interfere with all the things he loves to do, which is why it is important to get this done while he is young and can bounce back quickly. Sutts is just the most amazing boy! Let’s rally together and provide some support for Sutton and show him how much we CARE.
